Facebook is changing the way it shares data with third-party applications, Mark Zuckerberg announced Wednesday in his first public statement since the Observer reported that the personal data of about 50 million Americans had been harvested and improperly shared with a political consultancy.

WNU Editor: I think this is the third time in less than two years that I have heard Mark Zuckerberg apologizing what is platform has done or is doing. And he uses the same tone of voice, same type of apology, finishing with a promise to do better. The problem is that Mark Zuckerburg and his company know exactly what they are doing, they know exactly how their platform is being used, and more importantly .... have made little if any changes to satisfy its critics. They are not innocent .... nor naive .... their focus is to preserve their business model and to continue their growth.
