Thai Marine Tests DTI AAPC Wheeled Amphibious Armoured Vehicle

Amphibious Armored Personnel Carrier (AAPC) wheeled 8x8 tests in the open sea by Assault Amphibian Battalion, Royal Thai Marine Corps Division, at Plutaluang sub-district, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province, 6-7 September 2018.

The DTI Thailand has tested the performance of the tires amphibious troop transport, some examples of AAPC protocols, such as float tests and in-water tests, are closed waters,  
open sea trials at the beach, amphibious assault Marine Corps. The latest AAPC tires are part of the marine testing requirement that the vehicle must be able to withstand the sea at Sea State 2 and stabilize in water at Sea State 3.


DTI AAPC amphibious landing gear prototype made in the open sea, has the same camouflage color as the 12-ton BTR-3E1 wheeled armoured vehicle of Tank Regiment, Tank Brigade, Marine Corps. The prototype AAPC ammunition has been fitted with a 30mm turret, which is believed to be a mock-up turret for testing stability in open sea. 

For the selection of a turret size of 2 tons according to the requirements of the Thai Marines who want the DTI AAPC to be armed with a 30mm machine gun needing to install floating floats kit. Last August DTI Thailand has purchased a 30mm turret for the AAPC 8x8 amphibious prototype amphibious landing craft from Singapore Technologies Kinetics (ST Kinetics) in Singapore for a sum of 69,300,000 baht.


Elbit Systems UT30MK2 Remote Weapon Station 30mm cannon has intalled on DTI Black Widow Spider 8x8 prototype for Royal Thai Army at Defense & Security 2015.

ST Kinetics Singapore is a consultant for the design of Black Widow Spider wheeled 8x8 for the Thai Army to DTI Thailand, which has used a 30mm Remote Weapon Station turret with the Elbit Systems UT30MK2 Israel for a master car.



The prototype AAPC with ST Kinetics, Singapore, is a consultant to DTI, although not yet detailed, but the 30mm turret will provide the turret that the company recommends, which is compatible with the vehicle and suitable for floating in the water.
