MaxDefense Philippines said Otokar “made an offer to provide a couple of their Cobra 4×4 tactical wheeled armored vehicle, if their Arma 8×8 wheeled tank destroyer will be selected for the Light Tank project’s Wheeled Tank component.”

“Otokar is in a joint venture for this project with South Korea’s Hanwha Defense Systems, which in turn offered their K21-105 Light Tank for the Tracked Tank component,” it added.

“This offer can only happen if the Hanwha-Otokar JV wins the Light Tank project. But should Hanwha-Otokar lose the project, Otokar can still offer their Cobra armored LTV to the Philippine Army to meet its Light Tactical Vehicle requirement, wherein 200 units are needed,” MaxDefense Philipines explained.

MaxDefense also noted that the Light Tank Acquisition Project is expected to wrap up soon.
