In A Massive Offensive Taliban Seize Five More Afghan Provincial Capitals That Includes The Key City Of Kunduz


 

Daily Mail: Taliban captures three cities in a day: Islamists' grip on Afghanistan tightens during rapid offensive overwhelming government forces - after US and UK troops shipped out 

* Taliban captured three more provincial capitals from the government on Sunday 

* Kunduz and Sar-e-Pul, capital of Kunduz and Sar-e-Pul provinces, were the first to fall to the Islamists before Taloqan, capital of Takhar province, also fell 

* Zaranj, capital of Nimroz province, and Sheberghan in Jowzjan fell days earlier 

* Taliban has led a lightning-fast offensive against the government behind the backs of withdrawing American and NATO troops 

The Taliban has captured three provincial capitals in northern Afghanistan as the Islamist group tightens its grip on the country. 

Kunduz and Sar-e-Pul, capitals of Kunduz and Sar-e-Pul provinces, were the first to fall on Sunday, before jihadist fighters seized control of Taloqan, capital of Takhar.

It brings the total number of regional capitals which have fallen to the Taliban to five since Friday. 

Zaranj - in southern Nimroz province - was the first to fall, followed by Sheberghan in northern Jowzjan province.
