France upgrades Murin radar to boost battlefield awareness and resistance to electromagnetic threats.

According to information published by the French Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) on August 1, 2025, a new operational evaluation campaign for the upgraded Murin ground surveillance radar has been launched, marking a critical step in modernizing the French Army’s tactical sensor suite. This next-generation man-portable radar system is currently undergoing field tests with frontline units and specialized reconnaissance elements. Designed to detect, track, and classify moving ground targets under all-weather conditions, the upgraded Murin introduces new capabilities in range, target discrimination, and electronic protection, responding directly to the challenges posed by peer and near-peer adversaries.
