NEW DELHI: In a massive fire assault in Keran sector of Jammu & Kashmir, the Indian army destroyed at least 4 Pakistani posts along the Line of Control (LoC). The assault was in retaliation to the repeated cross-border violations by Pakistan. According to sources, at least 20 soldiers of Pakistan Rangers were killed in the aggressive operation carried out by India. Army’s Northern Command has confirmed the border operation conducted by the Border Security Forces (BSF). “Four Pak posts destroyed in massive fire assault in Keran Sector. Heavy casualties inflicted (sic),” Army’s Northern Command posted on Twitter.

The border operation comes a day after constable Koli Nitin Subash and jawan Mandeep Singh were killed by Pakistan. The latter was mutilated by Pakistani terrorists, who stabbed chopped off Mandeep and successfully returned into the Pakistani border since they were provided cover through gunfire by the Pakistani Rangers. BSF IG Arun Kumar had promised a befitting reply. Union Home
Minister Rajnath Singh had vowed that the government and the Indian forces would not “allow the heads of Indians hang in shame”.

According to reports, the number of soldiers killed in the border operation could be in double digits.

The border relations between India and Pakistan worsened in the aftermath of surgical strikes conducted by Indian para commandos targeting terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK). After the surgical strikes on September 29, Pakistan has violated ceasefire on more than 50 occasions. While 6-7 casualties have been recorded on the Indian side, nearly 20 have been killed in the retaliatory gunfire by the India. On Thursday, the counter-offensive launched by Indian forces killed 15 soldiers of Pakistan Rangers.
