Congress Raises Doubt Over SIMI Encounter

Congress Party General Secretary Digvijaya Singh

As eight suspected terrorists from banned organisation SIMI were gunned down after a jail break from Bhopal Jail, politics has peaked over the issue.

Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh raised doubts over the encounter tweeting, "Did they flee from the jail or made to flee according to some well planned strategy. This should be subject to inquiry". This forced the BJP to hit back immediately.

BJP's Siddharth Nath Singh while taking to India Today said, "He loves siding with terrorists. At a time when Singh should be patting the back of Madhya Pradesh Police, he is raising doubts".

This is not the first time Singh has questioned any encounter. In the past too, he raised questions about Batla House encounter in Delhi suggesting it was a fake encounter. He was proved wrong in the court later. Siddharth Nath Singh said, "As long as Digvijay Singh will side with forces that are against the nation, he will continue to be proven wrong".
