Russia to complete rebuilding of Rogachevo airfield in Arctic by late 2017

The Rogachovo airfield on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago in the Arctic will be rebuilt in late 2017, Russian Deputy Defense Minister General of the Army Dmitry Bulgakov has told journalists. "Work is in progress at the Rogachovo airfield to expand and extend the runway and build the taxiways, ramp, aircraft anti-icing treatment area and other buildings and facilities. The airfield will be reconstructed in late 2017," the general said.
