Third Spy Arrested In Pakistan Espionage Racket On Indian Forces

Another Pak spy arrested in Rajasthan - Police officials with Subhash Jangir and Maulana Ramzan, after they were arrested for alleged espionage activities for Pakistan

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has arrested a third person in the espionage racket on the Indian armed forces deployments along the India-Pakistan border, allegedly led by a Pakistan High Commission staff member.

The individual arrested by the Crime Branch has been identified by the police as Shoaib. He is a resident of Jodhpur and works as a visa agent there.

The other two alleged Indian spies arrested by the Crime Branch are Maulana Ramzan Khan alias Hazrat and Subhash Jangir. Both hail from Nagaur, Rajasthan. Khan teaches namaz and small children. Jangir ran a small business. They worked for the Pakistan
High Commission diplomat, Mehmood Akhtar, a former Pakistani army official, who was currently an ISI agent, police said.

Shoaib had come in contact with Maulana about one-and- a-half years back and lured him to collect information about the installations of the army and paramilitary forces in Gujarat and Rajasthan, police said.

With Shoaib’s arrest, the police will ascertain the kind of classified information which he managed to procure and pass on to the Pakistan intelligence. He was earlier detained by the Rajasthan Police.

Khan, Jangir, and Akhtar were apprehended by the police from the Delhi zoo on October 26. Akhtar was let off because he has diplomatic immunity. He was handed over to the Pakistan High Commission. Soon thereafter, the Ministry of External Affairs summoned the Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit and informed him that Akhtar was caught for espionage activities. India expelled Akhtar.
