WNU Editor: There are new "red lines" in Syria .... U.S., Russia, Iran draw new red lines in Syria (Reuters) .... so conditions on the ground have changed. But as to the question .... would Russia shoot down U.S. aircraft in Syria .... in view of these new "red lines" I can see it happening if (and only if) U.S. forces start attacking Syria forces west of the Euphrates River .... and I am willing to bet it is not going to happen (especially now). There is also the possibility of an "accident" ... and in view of the fact that Russia has halted cooperation with its US counterparts in the framework of the Memorandum on the Prevention of Incidents and Ensuring Air Safety in Syria .... I can easily imagine scores of scenarios where an accident happening. In this case .... I can only hope that the back channels are working.
