New Delhi: The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), under the chairmanship of Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, today reviewed the procurement of a number of key military platforms.
Sources said the DAC, the defence ministry's highest decision making body on procurement, deliberated on a number of proposals on acquisition of equipment and military hardware for the three services.

The government is likely to soon start the process for procurement of a fleet of single engine fighter aircraft for the Indian Air Force.
It is also in the process of signing a contract with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for supply of 83 Tejas light combat aircraft to the Indian Air Force.
These two proposals were to be discussed by the DAC.
