U.S. Navy Awards BAE Systems Contract to Upgrade USS Tortuga (LSD 46)

BAE Systems has received a $139.8 million contract from the U.S. Navy to modernize the dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46). The Tortuga will undergo 16 months of restorative work at the company’s shipyard in Norfolk, Virginia, the ship’s homeport. The contract includes options that, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value to $183.7 million.
