Defence Minister Was Buying Fish In Goa When PM Modi Inked Rafale Deal, Says Rahul Gandhi

Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday once again slammed the Modi government on Rafale deal. Gandhi had said that former defence minister Manohar Parrikar was unaware of Modi changing the 'Rafale' contract.

Manohar Parrikar was buying fish when PM Modi changed Rafale contract: Rahul Gandhi

''The defence minister was in Goa, in a fish shop buying fish... he didn't even know PM Modi changed the Rafale deal)," ANI quoted Gandhi as saying in Karnataka's Saundatti.

Earlier this month, after Parrikar's successor Nirmala Sitharaman said that details of the Rafale deal couldn't be disclosed, Rahul Gandhi said Modi personally went to Paris to get it signed.

Rahul said he had asked the prime minister and defence minister three questions. "These included the aircraft's cost and handing over the deal to a businessman after snatching it from a public undertaking. However, there was no reply. There can be only one answer and it is that there is something fishy about this," Gandhi said.

"The Defence Minister says that we will not reveal the amount paid for buying Rafale aircraft. What does this mean? This only means there is a scam. Modi ji personally went to Paris, he changed the deal. The whole country knows it," Gandhi had further said.
