Defence Minister does periodic reviews of armed forces, here is seen with Navy chief Sunil Lanba
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday reviewed the security situation along the Indo-China border during here day-long visit to this border town in Ladakh region.
Official sources told UNI that Ms Sitharaman attend the Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) International Women’s Day function here from 1030 hrs to 1230 hrs. The Defence Minister is also expected to meet the representatives of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh.
They said she will later review security situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China with senior Army officials.
The Defence research institute is organizing a national workshop on “DRDO Initiative of Women Augmenting Services” (DIWAS) at Leh on Sunday on the occasion of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2018.
They said that DRDO will showcase products and technologies for difficult terrains and platforms during the event. “DRDO women scientists are also in the high altitude region of Leh to celebrate IWD 2018,” they said.
