First OCEA's Patrol Boat Delivered to the Philippine Coastguard

The Boracay, first of five patrol boats from 24 to 84 meters Ocea for by the Philippine Coastguard, was delivered Friday 1 st June Built by the shipyard Les Sables d'Olonne, the boat joined Saint-Nazaire, where it was conditioned to be shipped on a cargo ship bound for Asia.

FPB 72 MKII type, the Boracay is 24 meters long and 5.8 meters wide. Made of aluminum, the FPB 72, a model already sold by Ocea in Nigeria and Suriname, can reach 35 knots and cross 600 miles at 12 knots. These coastal patrol boats are armed by a dozen sailors implement a fast boat. Three other units have been ordered by the Philippines, with delivery expected by the end of the year.

In addition to these four FPB 72s, Ocea realizes for this same customer the biggest boat in its history. It is an offshore patrol vessel type OPV 270, 83.6 meters long and 15.4 meters wide. In production at Sables d'Olonne, this building, also built entirely of aluminum, is cut for long missions on the high seas, with an endurance of 45 days. It will be able to cross 8000 miles at 15 knots, the maximum speed being more than 20 knots. This OPV is scheduled to join the Philippine Coast Guard in 2019.
