Military Region 9 has successfully organized the test fire and ammunition of a variety of weapons, including the American self-assessing mortar.

Trials were conducted at Chi Lang school, An Giang province. According to information published, this mortar was tested with 100mm mortars and 12.7mm machine guns (all manufactured by Vietnam) on the armored vehicle M113A1.

Items tested in both types of mortars 100mm mortars and 12.7mm machine guns. All hits are successful when the target is hit and destroyed, ensuring absolute safety of the person and equipment.

It is known that the mortar size of 100 mm is a product completely developed by the domestic defense industry. In addition to self-contained 100 mm mortars, the Vietnam Defense Weapon Institute has also successfully fabricated and tested electronic timers for 100 mm cassettes.

According to some experts, the integrated 100mm mortar on the M113A1 armor vehicle can be seen quite similar to the US M106 mortar model, which is also the battalion's battalion level.

The US Army converted the M113 armored cavalry carrying the three-legged fuselage with the 107 mm mortar, the M30 mortar, the modified space for the modified armored personnel carrier.

The conversion of the M113 armored vehicle to a self-propelled gun platform, in addition to reducing the number of combatants in the squadron, increased the number of ammunition reserves allowing for long-range fire, easily surpassing many types of terrain. It also has the effect of limiting casualties due to fire from the enemy.

In addition, it is easy to see that there is a lot of space left in the M113 armor, which is very convenient for upgrading weapons, as evidenced by the fact that the US version of the M106A3 has now been converted to 120 mm caliber mortars, is no longer the M30 size 107 mm.

For Vietnam, it is not difficult to integrate larger caliber mortars into M113A1 armor, so it is unlikely that this program will be carried out on a large scale in the near future.

At that time, the Vietnamese Army would have in its duty a very powerful battalion firepower support, not inferior to any equivalent product in the world.
