EIA: The United States is now the largest global crude oil producer

The United States likely surpassed Russia and Saudi Arabia to become the world’s largest crude oil producer earlier this year, based on preliminary estimates in EIA’s Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO). In February, U.S. crude oil production exceeded that of Saudi Arabia for the first time in more than two decades. In June and August, the United States surpassed Russia in crude oil production for the first time since February 1999.

WNU Editor: Oil experts earlier this year were saying that U.S. oil production would surpass Russia and Saudi Arabia by 2019 .... U.S. Set to Become World's Top Oil Producer By 2019 (July 11, 2018). Their predictions were wrong .... the U.S. is already the world's number one producer of oil. What is even more jaw-breaking is that U.S. oil production growth shows no signs of stopping. The geo-political impact of this trend cannot be underestimated.
