Reuters: Russia's Putin urges end to Washington political infighting

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that the United States should bring a halt to internal political infighting which he said was poisoning U.S. relations with Russia.

Putin has previously said allegations of Russian meddling in the U.S. presidential election have been fabricated by domestic opponents of U.S. President Donald Trump as a way to undermine Trump’s presidency.

WNU Editor: Putin is right that Washington's political infighting has poisoned U.S. relations with Russia (a point that I am sure President Trump told him when they met in private in Helsinki). But I do not think Putin understands the tremendous animosity that is bordering on hatred that many Democrats and some Republicans have towards President Trump, nor how determined they are to de-legitimize his Presidency so that they can remove him from office. The problem is that it is not working, and with each legislative victory or court appointment that is made by the White House, that animosity is only building.
