President Donald Trump accused Nancy Pelosi of 'canceling' his State of the Union address on Wednesday after a fiery exchange of letters in which she told the president he would only be welcome in Congress when the government shutdown is over.

He admitted shortly after that he would not be delivering the speech as planned on Jan. 29 to a Joint Session of Congress.

'The State of the Union speech has been canceled by Nancy Pelosi, because she doesn't want to hear the truth. She doesn't want the American public to hear what's going on. And she's afraid of the truth,' he said. 'The American people want to hear the truth. They have to hear the truth.'
