According to information published by Tehran Times on August 31, 2021, Russia's defence ministry said it would hold naval drills in the Caspian Sea with Joshan and Peykan missile launchers from Iran, G-122 and G-124 warships from the Republic of Azerbaijan and Mangistav, and Sari Arka ships from Kazakhstan in early September.
