WNU Editor: I have been hearing reports since yesterday that Ukraine President Zelensky wants to open talks with Moscow for a peace deal.
This decision was made after President Zelensky visited the flooded regions of Kherson and was briefed by his military commanders on the state of the counteroffensive. Apparently the Ukraine counteroffensive is not producing the breakthrough that many were
hoping for, and that personnel and equipment losses have been staggering.
I am personally skeptical of these rumors.
It is too soon to know if Ukraine's counteroffensive will succeed and/or fail.
There is also the problem of Ukraine's allies. Many have made it very clear that a peace deal would only reward Putin, and they would strongly oppose these talks should they occur.
