On early Friday, April 5, 2024, citing information from the Ukrainian Intelligence Services, using drone it was reported that Ukrainian forces targeted the Russian Morozovsk air force base located in the Rostov region of Russia. The attack resulted in the destruction of six Russian fighter aircraft, marking a critical blow to Russian military capabilities in the region. This Russia air force base is home to the 559th Bomber Aviation Regiment which has three squadrons of Sukhoi Su-34 (NATO: Fullback) as part of the 1st Guards Composite Aviation Division.
