At the close of December 2024, U.S.-based defense technology firm Shield AI made a groundbreaking announcement that could redefine the future of military drones. The company revealed that its V-BAT Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aerial drone had successfully completed a long-endurance, long-duration intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and targeting mission in Ukraine—under extremely challenging conditions.
