U.S. Army unveils first M1E3 Abrams prototype previewing next-generation tank for 2040 era

On January 14, 2026, the U.S. Army publicly unveiled the first M1E3 Abrams tank prototype at the Detroit Auto Show, presenting it as an early demonstrator to evaluate crew configuration, digital controls, and system integration.
