Boeing Begins JDAM LR Payload Unit Production for 500-Pound Strikes Beyond 300 Nautical Miles

 Boeing has begun initial production of the BSU-111/B Payload Delivery Unit for the U.S. Navy’s Joint Direct Attack Munition Long Range (JDAM LR), marking a key step toward fielding a low-cost precision weapon capable of striking targets more than 300 nautical miles away. Announced by the company on August 5, 2026, under a $75 million U.S. Air Force contract, the milestone strengthens the Navy’s ability to deliver sustained precision fire from safer stand-off distances while reducing reliance on more expensive long-range missiles in contested airspace.  Read Full Defense News At This Link.
