The Giuseppe Garibaldi (C 551) is a light aircraft carrier originally developed for the Italian Navy (Marina Militare) as a compact aviation cruiser capable of supporting anti-submarine helicopters and, following changes to Italian naval aviation legislation, fixed-wing STOVL combat aircraft.
