Australia has demonstrated that its P-8A Poseidon can launch the AGM-158C Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile, with the Department of Defence confirming on 11 September 2026 that an RAAF aircraft successfully struck a target with LRASM during RIMPAC 26. Although the combination is not yet operational, it could give Australia a long-range platform able to find, track, and attack hostile warships across vast areas of the Indo-Pacific.
